1977 November 1977 - RURAL ELECTRIFICATION PROGRAM STARTED WHEN NEA'S SENIOR COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT OFFICER PEDRO H. FRONDA CAME TO TABLAS AND ORGANIZED THE DISTRICT ELECTRIFICATION COMMITTEE (DECOM) IN THE NINE MUNICIPALITIES COVERING TABLAS ISLAND.
1978 January 28, 1978 - Romblon Electric Cooperative was the first name of the electric cooperative but was later change to Tablas Island Electric Cooperative, Inc. (TIELCO). The articles of Incorporation was acknowledge and notarized
1978 February 6, 1978 - It was registered with NEA
1979 July 31, 1979 - A televised signing of loan agreement between TIELCO and NEA was held in Manila with the presence of National and Provincial officials
1982 September 1982 - NEA designated TIELCO's first acting General Manager in the person of Engr. Edgar Agliam
1982 November 1982 - TIELCO opened its first headquarters at Odiongan, Romblon
1983 September 11, 1983 - the Municipality of Odiongan was energized and after a month the Municipality of San Andres was lighted
1984 May 10, 1984 - The Municipality of Calatrava was energized
1984 September 7, 1984 - the first Annual Membership Meeting was held at Romblon State College
1984 December 1984 - The municipality of Alcantara, San Agustin and Sta. Maria were lighted on
1985 March 19, July 6, and December 8, 1985 - On the same year, TIELCO extended its operating time from 7.5 hours to 12 hours.
1986 January 16, 1986 - the 9 Municipality of Tablas Island was energized. by the end of 1986, a total of 67 barangays were energized with 2,823 energized households.
